Events and activities

Farsund Culture School

Farsund Culture School was established in 1987. The culture school is based at the multi-purpose centre Ekko in Farsund, co-located with a youth club and cinema/concert hall.

Kulturskolen offers tuition in music, dance and visual arts, among other subjects. One of the programmes is "Music Carousel", an introductory course that gives children basic skills in music and dance through play and creative expression. The purpose of the programme is to learn, experience, create and communicate cultural and artistic expressions. Schools of Music and Performing Arts are a central part of a coherent educational programme that can qualify pupils with particular interest and motivation for admission to higher education in the arts. The education should contribute to the education of children and young people, promote respect for other people's cultural affiliation, raise awareness of one's own identity, become critically reflective and develop one's own life skills.
