Accessibility statement

Last updated

Regionlister.no should work for everyone, however you see, hear, move or read. We build and test the website with that goal, and on this page we are open about where we stand: what works, how we work, and what we have not tested.

In short

The website meets all the universal design requirements that apply to us.

We also test against more requirements than the law sets for us, including how the pages work on narrow mobile screens and when the spacing between lines and letters is increased.

Who is responsible

The website is owned by XX. This statement has been approved by the project manager at XX.

Which requirements we follow

Websites in Norway must be universally designed. For us, this means meeting the requirements of the international standard WCAG 2.0, levels A and AA, as they apply to private organisations. We are not required to publish an accessibility statement, but we believe you have a right to know how the website works.

What works

  • Keyboard. You can use the whole website with a keyboard. You can always see where you are on the page, and a link at the top lets you skip straight to the content.
  • Maps. Below each map you can open a list of all the points on the map, with a link to each of them. The list works with a keyboard and a screen reader.
  • Screen readers. Headings, menus, buttons and forms have names and descriptions that screen readers can read aloud. English pages that show Norwegian text, such as job listings, mark it as Norwegian so the screen reader changes pronunciation.
  • Mobile and zoom. The pages adapt to narrow mobile screens and can be zoomed to 200 per cent without scrolling sideways.
  • Colours and contrast. Text has enough contrast against its background, including text placed over images.
  • Motion. The Pause motion button at the top of every page stops all video and animation that plays by itself, and your choice is remembered across pages. If you have turned off animations on your device, motion is stopped from the start.
  • Video. None of the videos on the website contain speech. Films with sound only start when you choose to play them, and have standard playback controls.

Known issues

We are not aware of anything on the website that does not meet the requirements. If you find something, we would like to hear about it. See «Tell us if something does not work» further down.

How we work

  • Every change to the website is checked automatically. Before we publish a new version of the website, one page of each page type is tested automatically. If the test finds errors, the new version is not published.
  • Colours and text follow fixed rules. Text colours are chosen in pairs with the background they are used on, so that contrast is secured. A check in every new version stops colours and text sizes that break the rules.
  • We test ourselves, with real assistive technology. Before launch we tested pages of every type with a keyboard, with the NVDA screen reader, on a narrow mobile screen and at 200 per cent zoom. The errors we found were fixed before launch.
  • We fix what you report. Feedback about accessibility is treated as a fault to be fixed, not as a wish.
  • We review this statement at least once a year, and whenever the website changes significantly. The review is carried out by Freysta, which develops and runs the website.

How we tested

  • Automated testing of 32 pages, one of each page type, every time we publish a new version of the website. A version with errors is stopped. Last automated test: 27 October 2026.
  • Manual testing with a keyboard, the NVDA screen reader in Chrome, a narrow mobile screen and 200 per cent zoom, on pages of every type, in Norwegian and English, before launch.
  • Text over images has been measured against the image behind the text, on every page type, on wide and narrow screens, before launch.

What we have not tested

  • We have tested with one screen reader and one browser. Other screen readers and browsers may behave differently.
  • Text over video has been measured on one frame of each film, not throughout the film. If you find the text hard to read, you can stop the video with Pause motion.
  • New stories, job listings and other content published after launch use the same page templates that have been tested, but are not tested individually.
  • Signing in and profiles are part of a separate service, the Portal (Portalen), and are not covered by this statement.
