Who we are
Psychiatric services for adults
Vestre Agder DPS is a department within the mental health clinic at Sørlandet Hospital (SSHF).
We provide general psychiatric specialist health services to residents aged 18 and over with moderate to severe mental illness. Our catchment area covers the Lister region, the Lindesnes region and Kristiansand (west of the Otra river).
Our service offering includes acute crisis intervention and specialist assessment, and we provide treatment on an outpatient basis, through outreach, and in inpatient wards as needed. We also offer advice and guidance to family members and to the municipal health and care services within our catchment area.
Vestre Agder DPS has outpatient offices for patient appointments in Flekkefjord, Kvinesdal, Mandal and Kristiansand, as well as two inpatient wards – one in Kvinesdal and one in Kristiansand.
