When the sea calls
Photo: Surf-ListaWind and waves make Lista a paradise for surfing, kiting and other water sports.
On Lista, the open sea meets a landscape shaped by wind, waves and wide beaches. Surfers come here from all over the world to test themselves against the power of the sea. Nature is in charge, and they know it well.

Lista is known for its open coastal landscape and weather that is always changing. For surfers, that is part of the attraction. Wind, waves, tide and season decide what a day on the water has to offer.

In search of the right wave

Before surfing is about surfing, it is often about waiting. Reading the sea. Feeling the wind. Watching the waves and working out where to sit.
“Waiting for the right wave … it’s a very special feeling.”
Didrik Sørensen, surfer and owner of the Surf-Lista surf school

On Lista, they surf all year round.
Summer and winter alike.

For many, surfing is about more than the wave itself. It is about being outdoors, about community and about that special feeling of being completely present.
“The feeling I get when I’m out in the waves. It’s very much about just being in the moment.”
Didrik Sørensen

Surfing has become part of Lista’s story, but it also says something about the place itself. About an open landscape, a strong bond with the sea and a community that draws people from outside.
