- A workplace that values team spirit, safety and diversity, and often many people's first job

Right by the fjord
Large window surfaces give guests a view over the water as they swim — one of the details that make Sørlandsbadet more than just an ordinary water park.
Family experiences, exercise and health for all ages
Sørlandsbadet's core business is family experiences at the water park, fitness and health. The company is deeply committed to facilitating play and fun. They have also succeeded in building a fitness studio that reaches all age groups. The company is incredibly skilled at creating fun happenings and activities for the whole family. They truly put Lyngdal and Lister on the map!
Environment and operations
Forward-thinking and focused on development
Sørlandsbadet is committed to smooth operations and highly satisfied guests. Over the years, they have worked hard to find the best technological solutions. Sørlandsbadet has 20% saltwater in its pools and produces its own chlorine from the salt in the water. In 2015, the company became Eco-Lighthouse certified, and has achieved something remarkable: cutting energy use by around 50 percent. Sørlandsbadet may well be the water park in Norway that uses the least energy per guest.
A workplace with a strong sense of community
Team spirit and confidence
The company has always focused on building strong team spirit and a culture where people look out for one another. There is a continuous effort to ensure employees feel confident in their tasks, and that confidence creates well-being on the job.
Many people's first workplace
For many, Sørlandsbadet is their first workplace, and they carry important lessons with them into further studies or new jobs.
Diversity
The company has made a conscious effort around diversity. Employees here span different age groups and ethnic backgrounds.
Ripple effects generating 60 million kroner in extra turnover a year
Sørlandsbadet is hugely important for the whole local community — not just for the family town of Lyngdal, but for all the surrounding municipalities. The company is a ripple-effect project, where one of the main goals behind its establishment was to generate spillover benefits for other businesses in the region. The Institute of Transport Economics has calculated the extra turnover at 60 million kroner a year. Every single day, the team at Sørlandsbadet is focused on development, and it shows.
