Pilar is employee-owned and an independent consulting engineering firm. The average age at the company is low, with 4 of our 6 employees in their 30s. We are members of the Association of Consulting Engineers (RIF) and hold central government approval. We are based in Flekkefjord and have been part of S32 – Strandgaten Competence Centre – since 2000. Of our 6 employees, 5 are men and 1 is a woman. We would welcome more female employees.

All employees at Pilar hold higher education as either engineers or civil engineers within construction and structural disciplines. We also have strong digital skills and use advanced calculation software in our work, among other tools. Pilar is also a founder and co-owner of FotoBIM AS, which specializes in 360° photography and drone imaging.

Pilar is a forward-looking company with a solid reputation in the industry and a large customer network – including both public and private developers, contractors, industry, other consulting firms and private individuals. We also have a broad customer base, with our main focus ranging from Stavanger to Kristiansand.

We focus on sustainability and environmentally responsible execution of construction projects. Through our environmental remediation assignments, we map building materials for reuse – preventing toxic substances that are harmful to health and the environment from spreading into nature. We are also currently working towards Eco-Lighthouse certification.

We are strongly engaged in the local community. Pilar contributes to the realization and execution of both large and small construction projects that all help strengthen the local community. We also sponsor a number of teams, associations and projects.

Pilar has a strong working culture, where all employees are given responsibility in construction projects. Several of us work together on projects and engage in professional discussions. We have a flat leadership structure. New employees are assigned a mentor within the company whom they can rely on for professional support.

At Pilar, we have flexible working hours with defined core hours. We focus on collaboration, well-being and strong bonds through memorable experiences. Join exciting company trips and take part in fun team-building activities such as company relay races. We organize social events like padel tennis and dinners, and employees also arrange their own informal get-togethers with activities such as running and forest walks outside working hours.

The company is part of a shared lunch arrangement with the rest of S32, where employees are encouraged to get to know others in the building. The same forum also hosts pizza nights, talks, wine raffles and more.

All employees at Pilar are highly educated and are given responsibility through the projects they oversee. They can work across several disciplines within our core areas. We also invest in further training – to build on existing expertise, to stay up to date with changing requirements, or to gain competence in new fields.
